Liverpool star Olivia Smith reportedly has transfer interest from French side Paris Saint-Germain.

The Canadian international enjoyed a breakthrough season, scoring seven goals in 20 appearances for the Reds.

Last month, the BBC reported that the 20-year-0ld had attracted interest from several clubs, but that Liverpool are preparing for next season with Smith in their squad.

However, reports have suggested that PSG are admirers of the Canadian forward.

PSG target Olivia Smith transfer

PSG Culture have claimed that the French side have inquired about a transfer for Liverpool forward Olivia Smith.

The French side have had a long-standing interest in the Canadian, even before she joined Liverpool last summer.

PSG, alongside Chelsea, were interested in Smith before she opted to join Sporting Lisbon from North Toronto Nitros in 2023.

Smith is seen as an important player for Liverpool’s future and was named their Player of the Season for 2024-25.

However, PSG have an advantage, as they will play Champions League football next season. PSG face competition, with clubs including Chelsea and Lyon also interested, as per Canadian Soccer Daily.

The Canadian outlet reported in April that Smith is happy at Liverpool and has a family who supports the Reds.

Liverpool finished seventh in the WSL table in 2024-25, but have some way to go to catch the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, and both Manchester clubs.

Culture PSG claim that Smith has expressed her interest in joining PSG in the past, although her dream is to play in the Champions League with Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Liverpool teammate Taylor Hinds is attracting interest from Arsenal on a free transfer.

The meteoric rise of Olivia Smith

Liverpool star Olivia Smith is one of the top young talents in women’s football, and her performances have alerted clubs including PSG.

In Canada, she was a Golden Boot winner, Young Player of the Season, and Forward of the Year winner.

Then at Sporting Lisbon she was named the league’s Best Young Player and Revelation Player.

This led to her club record £210,000 move to Liverpool in the summer of 2024, in a major coup for the Reds after Smith previously had interest from Chelsea, PSG and Brighton.

In October, she became the first woman to score at Anfield, and won a host of club Player of the Month awards before winning Player of the Season at Liverpool.

Smith was also the youngest member of Canada’s World Cup squad in 2023, and has made 18 appearances for her country, scoring four goals.
