The Barclays Women’s Super League is back in action after the festive break with the Manchester derby at Etihad Stadium top of the bill.

Second-placed Manchester City are one point better off than Manchester United in fourth, Chelsea lead the table by six points ahead of their away fixture at West Ham.

Arsenal are third and home to bottom-of-the-table Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur take on Leicester City from whom they have just signed goalkeeper Lize Kop.

Liverpool and Brighton get the action underway on Friday evening, Everton entertain Aston Villa in a late afternoon match on Saturday.

Only a single point separates the Championship’s top four with two of those – Bristol City and London City – clashing in the live-streamed game.

Basement side Portsmouth play leaders Birmingham City, fourth-placed Durham host Charlton Athletic over whom they hold a four-point advantage.

Sunderland are two points off the leading quartet and away to Southampton who trail the Black Cats by a similar measure, Sheffield United chase a second win of the season when hosting Newcastle United.
