Wales came from behind to beat Slovakia 3-2 after extra-time over two legs in the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 qualifying play-off 1st Round.

Wales got level on aggregate late in the first half, Jess Fishlock played in by a perfect pass from Angharad James to dink the ball over the goalkeeper.

Moments later Fishlock was in one goal again but denied this time by the keeper, Ffion Morgan also threatened but was thwarted by a great tackle.

Ceri Holland and Morgan were wasteful early in the second half and more frustration followed for Wales, as Fishlock had not one but two goals ruled out for offside.

A third Wales goal seemed to have been denied by the offside flag when Holland followed up Kayleigh Barton’s shot onto the post to score but after a VAR referral it was allowed to stand.

Wales now play Republic of Ireland over two legs for a place at the finals in Switzerland.
