Penclawdd twice took the lead against Bute Energy Welsh Cup holders Cardiff City in front on a crowd of 750 before going down to a 6-2 defeat in the 1st Round tie.

Alex Davies struck twice in the opening 17 minutes for the South Wales Combined League side, the second time from the spot. Their visitors from two tiers above equalised each time, with Molly Kehoe featuring in the victory by bagging a brace and assisting in two other goals.

Penydarren knocked out higher league Llanelli Town 4-2 on penalties but almost did so in normal time, until the visitors forced the shoot-out at the death.

Carmarthen Town also caused an upset and in convincing fashion, progressing 5-1 past hosts Swansea University.

Llandudno’s Jasmin Dutton converted from the spot four minutes from time against Connah’s Quay Nomads in a 3-3 deadlock, before netting the decisive penalty in the shoot-out.

Felinheli pipped Llangefni on penalties after twice fighting back from two goals down, substitute Rubie Davies taking the tie to a shoot-out with her 84th-minute equaliser.

Quianna Wheeler got the only goal seven minutes from time as Pontypridd United edged past Penybont, despite a penalty miss from Lauren Payne.
