Cameroon defeated Mail 4-2 in the Africa Women Cup of Nations third place play off, to follow winners Nigeria and runners-up South Africa to the World Cup finals.

The Indomitable Lionesses’ Ninon Abena hit an eight-minute brace before Fatoumata Diarra replied for Mali and Marie Awona conceded and own-goal to make it 2-2.

Gabrielle Onguene soon restored the lead and then Christine Manie made sure of the victory in added time.

South Africa had beaten Nigeria in their opening group game but their clash in the final was goalless after extra-time, with the Super Falcons eventually winning 4-3 on penalties.
