Three County Cup Finals were played in midweek, as Blackburn Rovers fought back to beat Chorley in the Lancashire Cup, Nottingham Forest edged Radcliffe Olympic for the Notts Cup and Portsmouth put five past Southampton FC to lift the Hampshire Senior Cup.

Melissa Ball had underdogs Chorley ahead but Kayleigh MacDonald levelled 6 minutes before the break.

Saffron Jordan put Rovers in front on 49 minutes and Natasha Fenton’s free-kick was turned onto the bar and away by goalkeeper Meghan Pope before Hannah Walsh drove home the third.

Blackburn confirmed a record twelfth win of the competition with late goals from Jordan, Evie Clarkson and a long-distance Chelsey Jukes strike.

Portmsouth made it ten Hampshire Cup title with a 5-0 win over County League Southampton FC Women.

Pompey were three up by half time; Shannon Albuery firing home the rebound after Samantha Quayle’s effort was blocked, Rachel Panting winning a penalty which Rachel McLachlan converted and Albuery hitting home Panting’s cutback.

Albuery completed her hat trick 2 minutes after the restart and when Shannon Sievwright’s free-kick was parried, Panting slotted home to round off the scoring before the hour mark.

Nottingham Forest were 2-1 winners over Radcliffe Olympic in the Nottinghamshire FA Women’s Cup Final, played at Basford United FC on Tuesday night.

The favourites opened the scoring with a well taken finish by Player of the Match Natasha Hudson.

Lower division Radcliffe were close to an equaliser with a long-range effort before half time and eventually drew level with a great effort inside the goalkeeper Bec Thomas’s left hand post.

Forest substitute Amy Dicken flashed a ball across the goalmouth with no-one able to convert and Thomas then denied Radcliffe a goal on the break.

Dicken did then deliver the decider for Forest though, leaving the underdogs very little time to attempt a response.
