Wymondham Town champions, Whyteleafe 100% winners

Wymondham Town are champions, Whyteleafe complete perfect league campaign, Leek Town end Goldenhill Wanderers’ winning spree, Portishead win a top two clash against previously unbeaten Wootton Bassett Town.

REGIONAL LEAGUE ROUND-UP

EASTERN – Wymondham up, Acle and Sudbury into Cup Final

PREMIER – Cambridge City kept up their title hopes with a 2-0 victory at AFC Sudbury, goals from Laura Mills and Isabella Simmons, while lowly Colney Heath restricted third-placed Bedford to a 1-0 win.

1 NORTH – There were two goals each for Hannah Waters and Laura Nicholls as Wymondham Town sank Kings Lynn Town 7-0 in the top of the table clash, thereby securing the championship. Histon hit hosts Ipswich Wanderers for six, with two for Sophie Lanham.

1 SOUTH – Bottom side Bishops Stortford drew 2-2 with Little Thurrock Dynamos and Harlow Town won 4-1 at Hertford Town.

LEAGUE CUP – Acle United edged Billericay Town 3-2 to reach the final, substitute Grace Birchall among the goals for the victors. There was a similar score in the other tie, AFC Dunstable edging Brentwood Town in extra-time, with another sub on target for the winners in Beth Stanton.

LEAGUE PLATE – Stevenage Reserves reached the final by beating Hoddesdon Town Owls 3-0, Hannah Marshall, Emily Schofield and Naomi Sleator with the goals. Hutton and Histon play the second semi next Sunday.

EAST MIDLANDS – Jody Scott nets all five for Woodlands

PREMIER – Top of the league Oughtibridge War Memorial were 5-0 winners over Arnold Town, Nettleham went second with the only goal at Kettering Town and Peterborough Northern Star are now third after a 1-0 defeat of Ollerton Town. Leicester City WFC DS slipped to fourth when held 1-1 by Mansfield Hosiery Mills and Rise Park finished 2-2 with Eastwood, Paige Singleton’s brace rescuing a point for the away team.

1 NORTH – Jody Scott got all five goals as Woodlands leapfrogged Calverton Miners Welfare into third with a 5-3 scoreline. Market Warsop went sixth with a 6-1 result at Clifton, Draycott Victoria matched that score at Teversal with braces by Sarah Upton and Natalie Loughenbury.

1 SOUTH – Oadby & Wigston Dynamo’s 4-2 result against Thrapston Town put them within three points of leaders Peterborough United. Reanne Mullen came off the bench to bag two in Northampton Town’s 7-0 success at Corby S&L. Corby Town slipped to a 3-1 reverse at Heather whose Rebecca Dobney struck twice and Desford triumphed by the same score at Loughborough Foxes Vixens.

PREMIER – Emily Hart got both goals in London Kent Football United’s 2-1 defeat of Eastbourne Town that put them third. Jade Whiteman’s two goals helped Parkwood Rangers to a 4-3 win at Aylesford.

GREATER LONDON PREMIER – Champions Whyteleafe completed an unbeaten campaign with a 4-1 win at runners-up QPR DS. Spurs DS won by an amazing 7-5 score at their AFC Wimbledon counterparts, Shannon Drewe scoring four times while Hanna-Rita Nadunga’s hat-trick was all in vain. Josie Elliot’s double saw Victoire draw 2-2 at Hampstead and bottom of the table Colne Valley beat Regents Park Rangers 3-0.

JOHN GREENACRE MEMORIAL TROPHY – Lavana Neufville’s treble gave Ashford Town (Middx) a 3-2 win at Sutton United, Islington Borough edged New London Lionesses with Eleanor Sherrard-Smith’s goal, while Hemel Hempstead Town won 3-1 at Hackney and Godalming Town got six at Actonians Reserves to make the final four.

SOUTH EAST COUNTIES PREMIER – Second-placed Meridian won 4-1 at Crawley Wasps Reserves, Bexhill United are fifth after sending Hassocks to a 3-0 defeat and Chichester City DS saw off Ashford 2-0.

NORTH EAST – Boro go second in North

PREMIER – Hartlepool United’s 7-1 victory at Castleford White Rose brought hat-tricks for Caitling Bates and Justine Robinson. Farsley Celtic are three points clear of Wallsend BC in mid-table after beating them 6-3. Still more goals as RACA Tynedale were 7-2 winners over Wakefield with two each from Christine Murray and Siobhan Simpson.

1 NORTH – Boro Rangers’ 2-0 result at Prudhoe Town pushed them into second spot, substitute Delise Clifford sealing the points. Cramlington United’s four goals against Guisborough included a couple from Chloe Roylance.

1 SOUTH – Doncaster Belles gained just a third point of the season when holding Ossett Albion 2-2, while Harrogate Railway had a walkover against Malet Lambert.

NORTH WEST – Tranmere’s top spot looking untenable

PREMIER – Stockport County defeated MSB Woolton 4-0 but had to settle for a 1-1 draw in the other match, which left them a point behind leaders Tranmere. Rovers had in midweek gone down 5-0 at Burnley, who kept the goals coming when 5-1 winners at Sir Tom Finney. Merseyrail Bootle beat Blackpool 3-0 & 4-0 in another double-header, CMB and Accrington Sports both won 1-0 in their two games, while Fleetwood Town Wrens and Manchester Stingers drew 1-1.

1 NORTH – Penrith stretched their lead to seven points with a 3-1 win at Preston North End. Workington Reds took six points against Leigh RMI with 3-1 & 2-1 results.

1 SOUTH – FC United held their four-point lead after storming to a 9-2 victory at Crewe Alexandra DS, even though scores were level at half time. Second-placed West Didsbury & Chorlton edged a nine-goal thriller at Curzon Ashton, after being 3-1 down at the interval. Liverpool Feds Reserves beat Altrincham 2-1, which was also the outcome when Northwich Vixens played Stockport County Blues. Warrington Wolverines put nine past City of Liverpool, a third of those for Nicola Chatterley.

SOUTHERN – Oxford City book final berth

1 NORTHERN – Woodley United went three points clear with the only goal at third-placed Barton Rovers, Charley Evans scoring in the 58th minute.

1 SOUTHERN – Winchester City Flyers Reserves clinched a first win of the season, 2-1 away to Southampton WFC Reserves.

CHAIRMAN’S CUP – Oxford City brushed aside Wargrave 9-0 to make it into the final, Steph Mobbs with three of the goals. Wycombe Wanderers welcome Winchester City Flyers in the other semi-final next Sunday,

SOUTH WEST – Portishead win Eastern title ‘six-pointer’

PREMIER – Buckland Athletic’s 3-0 result over Keynsham Town DS was their thirteenth straight league win and aided by a Kirsty Caunter double. Torquay United in second came through 4-1 at Forest Green Rovers where Rebecca Wakley netted twice, with Marine Academy Plymouth maintaining their own hopes with a 3-0 scoreline away at Bishops Lydeard. Charlestown drew 1-1 with Ilminster Town, Middlezoy Rovers beat AEK Boco 3-1, while Exeter City had a walkover against Downend Flyers.

1 EASTERN – Two second-half goals saw unbeaten Portishead win 3-1 away to the leaders and inflict Wootton Bassett Town’s first defeat. Team Mendip sent third-placed Swindon Town DS to a 1-0 reverse. FC Chippenham are level on points with Cheltenham Civil Service after thrashing them 7-1 away, Caitlin Brooks and Aleksandra Guzik both recording trebles. Swindon Spitfires’s 4-1 victory against Oldland Abbotonians brought a brace for Katie Wadey. Almondsbury were 2-1 winners at Cheltenham Town DS, St Nicholas Reserves got off the bottom at the cost of Frome Town, whom they beat 2-1 away.

WEST MIDLANDS – Leek glistening after Goldenhill defeat

PREMIER – Leafield Athletic are a point off top team Bedworth United after a big 5-3 win at third-placed Stockingford AA Pavilion, where they only fielded ten players and saved a penalty. Lye Town went down 3-1 at home to Wolverhampton Sporting.

1 NORTH – Leek Town ended Goldenhill Wanderers perfect form with a thrilling 4-3 away win to leapfrog them into second, Kim Sheldon netting the decider from 20 yards. Brereton Town beat basement side Florence, also by the odd goal in seven.

1 SOUTH – Gornal just did enough to stay top, winners with another 4-3 scoreline at Solihull United where Sarah Lojko got the winner. Second played third with Redditch United running out 3-2 winners over Kidderminster Harriers. Coventry Sphinx got four goals at Droitwich Spa, while Stourbridge defeated Coventry Development 3-0.

LEAGUE CUP – Bedworth United brushed aside Crusaders 5-0 to reach the semi-finals. Coundon Court went through to the quarter-finals with a 2-1 win at Knowle, with a new club record 277th appearance for captain Hannah Roxburgh.
