The FAWPL Northern Division side have added Charlotte Higginson who has played for borth England U-17s and U-19s, plus Naomi Chadwick who represented the Young Lionesses in the U-17 World Cup in New Zealand.

Higginson, who previously played with Chorley and Stockport County, said on her signing: “I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season as I love what the club is about. The attractive football and their ambitions for the future and that’s what drew me here.”

Chadwick who recently returned to playing after a short time away from the game used to play for Doncaster Rovers Belles.

She said: “I’m really excited to join the club after a few years away from football and I look forward to the season ahead.”

Manager Glen Preston spoke about the two new signings saying: “I can’t tell you how happy we are to welcome Naomi and Charlotte to the club!

“To sign two players with international experience is yet again a testament to how far this club has come.

“Both players have already shown just what quality they can bring to the table. Charlotte versus Sheffield FC was superb and at times unplayable with her quick feet and creativity.

“Naomi who I’ve known for quite some time has shown her Women’s Super League One experience during the last few weeks of pre-season and adds raw energy mixed in with great footballing intelligence and real professionalism.”
