North West Women’s League Opening Fixtures

The North West League may have lost some teams over the summer but more have joined, including four moving up from County League football.

With Bolton Wanderers promoted to the Premier League, Tranmere Rovers and Blackpool Wren Rovers made the opposite move, with the latter now to play under the banner of Fleetwood Town in a thirteen-strong top flight.

Birkenhead dropped down into Division 1 North and have since changed their name to Cammell Laird, while City of Manchester leave the league altogether.

Sir Tom Finney and Merseyside Bootle come up into the Premier Division after winning Divisions 1 North and 1 South respectively.

Lancashire League top two, Morecambe Reserves and Bolton Wanderers Reserves join Division 1 North, along with Burscough Dynamo (Liverpool League runners-up) and Cammell Laird.

New in Division 1 South are Cheshire champions Crewe Alexandra Development, while Chorltonians are now known as West Didsbury & Chorlton.

Although with 34 teams set for the new season, the league has lost a couple more sides in Egerton and Ellesmere Port Town.
