Manchester City 6-0 Doncaster Rovers Belles

Manchester City are six points clear of second-placed Chelsea – who have two games in hand – after putting six goals past basement side Doncaster.

The home side made a flying start as Lucy Bronze (pictured top – Photo: mcfc.co.uk) and Jill Scott scored in the opening 10 minutes.

Three goals in a five-minute spell before the break ended the contest, with Jane Ross, Jennifer Beattie and Kosovare Aslanni all scoring.

Toni Duggan rounded off the rout with the only goal of the second half on 73 minutes.

Reading 1-1 Sunderland

Sunderland and Reading remain ahead of the Belles as they both recorded their third draws of a so far winless league season, the second 1-1 tie between the pair.

The Black Cats took the lead on 8 minutes when Beth Mead was fouled in the box by Molly Bartrip and scored after having seen her penalty saved by Mary Earps.

The Royals’ Rachel Rowe had an effort ruled out for offside, but they did level with 12 minutes to go.

Megan Beer handled Kayleigh Hines’ shot on the line and was sent off, with Helen Ward then firing home the spot-kick.

Notts County 3-2 Liverpool

Notts County ran up a 3-0 lead over Liverpool but the Reds pulled two goals back to set up a tense finale that saw the hosts leapfrog their visitors into fourth place on goal-difference with their first win.

Rachel Yankey set up Ellen White to score on 12 minutes and Jess Clarke curled home a fine effort to double the lead before half time.

Shanie Van De Sanden won Liverpool a penalty but Caroline Weir put it over the bar and White got ther seocnd goal just two minutes later.

But Katie Zelem did convert after Emma Lundh was brought down and netted again from a Kate Longhurst pass 9 minutes from time.
